Long time VA WP and I am going to stop traveling all that much, I have now started pooling with my partner but was looking to join an Airline Alliance that has a bit more flexibility, get out of the VA Shackles!
I was basically wondering if there was any other Airline with either *Alliance or OneWorld that allows sharing of Status Miles? If not either than an airline that is part of SkyTeam but that I can still use in Australia!
This probably goes against a lot of FF that hate lounges being crowed by people who Family Pool, I used to be one of those people but I dont think I can go back to standing in the long lines and no lounge access
EgyptAir (part of the star alliance) has a similar family pool feature that allows you to pool both status and points but the earn rate for many partner airlines we fly in Australia is not much or sometimes nothing at all.
I think the better solution if you aren't going to fly enough for elite status is just to purchase a lounge membership like Qantas Club.
