Check through baggage on separate bookings Malaysia Airlines.

Hi all, I have booked a business class trip from Kuala Lumpur to Adelaide using Qantas points on Malaysia Airlines.

If I pay cash for a further flight from Phuket to Kuala Lumpur also on Malaysia Airlines will I be able to check my baggage through to Adelaide despite the two flights being on separate tickets and one being ticketed through Qantas?

It's a short stopover in KL so if they won't check through baggage I'll have to look at another airline.

I have done Malaysia Airlines Melbourne to KL to Chennai on 2 tickets, luggage checked through with no problems. Then Chennai to KL on Malaysia Airlines then onto Heathrow with BA again luggage checked through all the way on 2 different tickets with no problems. Just need to show the E Tickets and the check-in staff will link up.

hi guys i need some advise

i am travelling from mauritius to sydney.

i purchased 2 sepate online ticket .

one ticket is from mauritius to dubai , dubai to Kuala Lumpur by emirates

ticket 2 from kuala Lumpur to sydney by Malaysian airlines.

i would like to know as they are 2 different airlines will there will an issue for connecting flights and also will be luggage be checked in all the way through to sydney .
