I need to seek your expert advice on the following:-
I am a QF Gold / Oneworld Sapphire member, but only a Malaysia airline Enrich Blue member (QF bronze equivalent).
When I travel on Malaysia airline flights, and only have the Malaysia airline Enrich membership number attached to the booking, will I be able to enjoy the various benefits (like priority check in & lounge access) accorded to a Oneworld Sapphire member? Will having the physical Qantas Gold membership card with me be sufficient to enjoy those benefits when my flight booking has only the lower tiered membership number attached to it (in this case, the MAS Enrich Blue).
You should be able to put the QF number on the booking, and also be able to do that at check-in. If they say they can't then show the gold card at various points and if tgey argue then show them the one world rules.
@patrickk, thanks for the prompt reply. I have in the past included the QF number in my bookings but due to the nature of some of these “sale” Malaysia airline tickets, I ended up earning zero points for my QF membership. However, these same tickets would at least earn some, though minimal, points toward the Malaysia airline Enrich membership. Something is better than nothing I suppose. I'll try it on my next flight and bring the QF gold card with me. Wish me luck.
Loi while the sale fare may not earn many points and some qantas fares are fairly minimal the card should give you access to the lounge queuing and boarding advantages etc
