Was advised by an expert in SQ matters last year that you really shud phone to ask what is happening with the waitlist on a regular basis, partic as your flights are 2 months fwd. Apparently this is important for both upgrades and straight awards.
You can always test how many F seats remain by making a dummy booking.. and, thanks to coronavirus expect there will be puh-lenty of cancelations everywhere the next few weeks..
Have to agree with the previous posters. Just keep calling. I have never had a waitlist declined. Often call twice a week and ask about the progress of the waitlist.

Whats peoples experience been with getting granted Singapore Airlines waitlisted award flights?
I am looking at listing on PER-SIN-LHR (SQ224-SQ322) on 17/03/2020.
Cheers,
Sion.

Spoke to someone at SIA just yesterday about this exact issue. Their advice was, "Just keep calling regularly".
So I don't know whether thats what is actually required to get them released, but that's what I'll be doing.

Thanks.
I've called but it is an automated system that asks if I wish to remain waitlisted. Does this sound right?
I'll keep doing that regularly if that's the case.
In your experience, is it usually right on the 2 week mark that you get approved?
Cheers,
Sion.
