I have a Qantas return Melbourne-Shanghai flight booked for May departure and June return. If I cancel now, I'll get the credit voucher which may have some restrictions (e.g. fare class, etc) when I rebook. But because Qantas is cancelling most of their international flights, some of my flights are likely to be cancelled soon. Shall I then wait and see if I can get a full refund which would be much preferred?

I had to cancel a domestic roundtrip for April on 28 February 2020. I requested a refund to my credit card but I am still waiting on it. While refunds normally take 7 days, I have heard Qantas may be taking around 6 weeks at the moment. I cannot even contact Qantas right now due to the chaos. I wish they had an online form.
I am thinking it may be quicker to get a credit voucher.
If anyone can provide any insights, I would appreciate it too. Thanks in advance.

I had a multi booked for Brisbane to Berlin via Sydney booked for April for Hannover Messe and waited till today when they closed all international flights. I logged in and had the option of a flight credit or refund (with cancellation fee).
I took the refund option and was happy to blow $500 - I've not received any confirmation the refund is happening - probably because their T&C's are deliberately ambiguous in relation to whether they'll process a refund

I know they announced cancelling all international flights till at least end of May, but my bookings are still showing the flights. I wonder if Qantas is deliberately delaying the process in the hope that many people will convert flights to vouchers by the March 31 deadine so they don't have to do refunds once they actually start canceling flights.

I had fares booked to Bali in June. My flight bookings allowed for a complete refund on one leg and a $300 penalty on the other. But the ONLY option available on the website is a voucher for credit. It would be useful if Qantas put a cancel/refund button on their website rather than the "voucher. Nonetheless I was able to get through to Qantas by telephone this (Sat) morning and was helped to cancel the flights and obtain a refund by a very helpful and friendly person.
