I've just received a status boost of 600 credits (or half what is required for me to retain Plat). I've got 11 months to get another 600. So it seems Qantas won't be automatically extending my status for another 12 months. Probably doing this because international travel won't be possible for the first half of this year, and most of my travels (particularly in business class) have been international flights. Has anyone else been given this offer?
This is incorrect, if you book and fly a QF flight in your membership year you get an additional year of status. I got my status bump this year (600 SC) but I will still get an extra year of platinum as dictated by their latest FF status memo.
Yes @theflyinggeo, that is also my understanding. One eligible flight to get an additional 12 months of status at the current level. E.g. my membership year expires Jul 2021, gets me an extension of QF Plat through to Jul 2022.

This doesn't apply to people with memberships ending in January and February.

Yep that Is exactly where I’m at. I’m finish in February. I know QANTAS have to finish the extensions somewhere but it would be nice if this waited until after the international flights resumed. Even domestically work travel is not close to what it was prior to Covid 19.
