Not embarrassed at all. I'm quite happy with what I've achieved in my 77 years as an Australian. My country has given me a lot, and I have given it my best in return. Who should be embarrassed are those who still believe the 'welcome to country' is gospel, when in fact it was invented by Ernie Dingo some 20 years ago. It is in the same vein as the group of Aboriginal women in 1996, who claimed that the site of a proposed bridge in SA was 'secret women's business'. That claim was also debunked. To quote a judge's recent comment at a fake news trial 'your beliefs don't make it true'. That said, I expect you will continue to return with abuse without any thought that I am entitled to have a different opinion from you.

Yet you’re the one that seems unable to tolerate the views of others, or more importantly, people from a different background with different values to your own. Nice one.

I acknowledge the early British settlers who came to this land, which had stood undeveloped for over 50,000 years, and
over less than two hundred and fifty years, transformed this land to one of the richest countries on Earth.
Many of those settlers starved and/or were flogged to death in the process.
Today we all enjoy the fruits of their labour.

It's one thing to do it, but a whole other level when you have to brag about it on a travel forum.
No one is impressed by this.
