Hi - am interested if there's any intel on whether Qantas will have an International sale soon. I've been checking fares and routes to a few overseas destinations (London, Singapore, Bangkok) and I'd estimate the business saver fares are about 15-20% higher than what I've paid previously - which is understandable, but costly... A few competitors have come out this week with sale; but I'm holding off booking and can wait given my timing... thanks...
I wouldn't bet on it. There is a lot of pent up demand at least initially. Maybe waiting a month or so after the initial excitement is gone, and then there will be a sale. But this really is the best time to use your points. After a relatively "tough" 2 years for the airlines, they are no doubt going to be devaluing loyalty programs sooner rather than later. Not immediately, but use it whilst you still can.
Thanks djtech... I was thinking that might be the case: so more hoping than anything as I'm wanting to book flights to get status credits... and keep points for upgrade requests...

cheap flights in peak January season to LAX & SFO from BNE, SYD & MEL. Seems to be via Fiji. Must be Qantas codeshare. $999 return & can fly to new A359s.

There appears to be more of a demand for flights to London now then there is for flights after 27 Dec 2021 according to Qantas.
Here's the current update by ET ..... https://www.executivetraveller.com/news/qantas-pushes-back-melbourne-london-brisbane-usa-flights

If you go to the Qantas international sale page they are listed there: not for everyday and the December ones seem to have gone but they are there.
