Forgive me if this topic has been discussed previously, but prior to the pandemic, I travelled several times each year on OneWorld airlines internationally in business class, usually with Qantas domestic connections. However, Qantas domestic business connections seem to have suddenly became super-expensive - literally twice as much as with Virgin business - I just booked a Europe trip in July/August with JAL in business class but on Virgin business domestically.
Why has Qantas essentially made it prohibitively expensive for me to use our national airline to connect with other Oneworld international carriers?
How can Virgin provide essentially the same service for half the Qantas asking price?
Is it possible that QF is providing a "full service" business offering, add to that the significant amount of points upgrades, making the limited seats more expensive?
If you could make domestic business in VA and connect to OW at a major port, it would make a lot of $$ sense, would it not?
This is no different sometimes, when i fly to the US, booking directly via QF to go somewhere other than LAX is far more expensive, than separating the booking and making the US domestic first class separately, which could be way cheaper
