Here is some background. Have booked an Emirates flight out of Frankfurt via Dubai to Singapore and managed to get a Singapore flight to Melbourne for June this year. Now I am reading that you are not permitted to transit through Singapore unless your carriers are on the same booking. Clearly I wasn’t able to book both award flights on one ticket.
Does anybody know more about this strange/very limiting rule possibly connected to trying to keep terminals isolated) and what are the chances that this rule will be removed. Also, as it stands it seems there is no access to lounges arriving out of Germany…..! Changi Airport webpage recommends to contact the authorities……which authorities…..the Singapore embassy?
Changi Airport has a contact icon which just moves you from one link to the other.
Hello. June is a (relatively) long time down the track. And the trend in most places is that restrictions are being lifted rather than re-imposed. So if I were you, I'd be very, very optimistic that come June you'll be able to make your double-booking connection at Changi without any issue. I understand you might be nervous and would like some clarity today. But I would just sit and wait until maybe a month before and check again. I strongly suspect the answer you'll get today from Changi authorities is already what you know. So just sit tight. A lot can change in a month, to say nothing of four months!

@crane62
Interested to hear how you went with this and the airlines you travelled with.
We have a similar situation next month and with two little ones in tow want to make sure things run as smoothly as possible.
