Hello fellow travellers,

I’m wondering whether anyone can assist.

I’m travelling with my family from Sydney to London with a stopover both ways in Singapore in June 2022. We’re flying QF to and from Sydney, but were unable to book QF from Singapore to London due to the stopover, I guess.

I’m a gold FF and wondered whether this counts for anything in gaining lounge access with either BA or QF?

Thanks in advance knowledgeable travellers.

Hiya,

Based on the title of your post I'm assuming you are going to be flying Singapore to London on BA? If so, your Gold frequent flyer status is the equivalent of Oneworld Saphire. This will give you and a guest lounge access to the BA lounge or the Qantas lounge if its open at the time of your departure (I recommend Qantas as the superior lounge but it can be busy) Similarly you will get access to the Oneworld lounges in Heathrow on departure back to Singapore (Which lounges will depend on your departing terminal)

The main issue may be access for your children. Qantas allows you to bring in children under 18 into qantas lounges without counting them in the guest limit. However I don't know if this will require you to be flying with Qantas, or if the will rule will stand if you are flying with BA. Some other lounges do count kids as guests. I'd have a look at the oneworld website for lounge details for access rules and lounge opening hours. Others here on ET should be able to provide advice based on their experiences with the rules and regs around getting kids into these lounges.

Qantas Gold is Oneworld Sapphire not Emerald, this may change the amount of guests allowed in.
