IN BRIEF | EVA Air is now serving up Krug Grande Cuvée in its Royal Laurel business class.
One of the kings of champagnes, Grande Cuvee is a blend of between six to ten different vintages and oak barrel-aged for at least six years.
The highly-regarded Wine Spectator magazine rates Krug Grande Cuvée at 97 points out of a possible 100, and it sells for almost A$300 a bottle.
But that's no bother for business class travellers on EVA Air's flagship Boeing 777-300ER flights from Taiwan to Paris, New York, and Houston, who can now sip their way through the journey with this undeniably first class fizz.

Krug is certainly incredible-quality, but it isn't for everyone. Those who like their champagnes with a steely/mineraly edge will certainly love EVA for doing this, however.
And for those stuck in a Hello Kitty jet, Krug will certainly reduce the pain. Or make it more fun depending on one's position with respect to Hello Kitty.

I used to have boyfriend who flew as cabin crew for American Airlines and he would always bing off a bottle of the champagne they served on board (can't remember if it was in Biz or First Class)..
ANYWAYS... It was a simple black bottle with only a stylised Louis by Roederer written on it. Never been able to find it in stores, but without a doubt my absolute favourite Champers!!

Got excited about this until I realised there are no west coast cities listed, despite the 77W flying to LAX. I felt that was glossed over a little in this article. EVA's business fares are very competitive ex HKG, I'm thinking of switching from Cathay.
