Fiji Airways gets access to LAX Oneworld Business Class lounge

The Oneworld Business Class lounge is among the best at LAX, and its doors are now open to travellers on Fiji Airways.

If you're flying in Fiji Airways business class...

... or are down the back of the bus in economy but hold Tabua Club membership...

... you'll enjoy access to the Oneworld business class lounge at Los Angeles' Tom Bradley International Terminal.

The lounge is operated by Qantas and shared with British Airways and Cathay Pacific, although it's also available to business class passengers and eligible frequent flyers on all Oneworld member airlines flying out of TBIT.

However, Fiji Airways access will be available only from three hours before the flight's scheduled departure time – forget about clocking up a longer stay.

That'll still be ample time for a drink or two at the bar...

... or the circular lounge ringing the mock fireplace...

... plus a bite to eat from the buffet and even a shower to freshen up before your flight.

That's a great upgrade from the Shared International Lounge upstairs. I guess Fiji Airways can remove their logo from the wall and now Virgin will have a spot to put theirs up.

It wouldn't surprise me if FJ also switches to the Qantas operated lounges in Hong Kong and Singapore as well.

The Final thing which will be interesting is what lounge NZ Gold/Elite get access to. Currently, if you book LAX-NAN on a NZ flight number and hold Gold/Elite Status you get access to the shared international lounge upstairs. I can't imagine QF letting NZ frequent flyers in when NZ have a fine lounge at LAX as well.

Great news! although I've always believed that QF code share passengers with status should've qualified for access in this LA lounge.

Chris, what if you're QF Platinum. Can you get into the Flounge?

Assuming you're booked on the QF codeshare then yes. Otherwise QF status passengers don't get access when booked on the FJ flight number.

I would not assume that. Speaking from experience, QF Plats on the QF codeshare were not entitled to 1st Lounge access @LAX. I managed to talk my way in a couple of years ago but being a Oneworld Lounge, OW rules apply ie Next onward flight operated AND marketed by a OW carrier.

It's different in SYD and MEL which are QF 1st Lounges and QF rules apply. QF flight # and you're riding the escalator up to the SYD first Lounge. FJ # as J pax and you're despatched to tired J Lounge purgatory.

Anyway, hopefully a little confusion will allow some lucky people to enjoy the 1st Lounge when doing the Bula Route back from LAX. Flash your QF app that invites you to enjoy the LAX 1st Lounge!

The LAX lounge is one of my favourites. Maybe not reason enough to travel through LAX just for the lounge. Much prefer DFW where the AA lounge is fine but not on the TBIT level.
