Louis Vuitton luggage videos show you how the other half packs
If you've got more money than sense and are toting Louis Vuitton luggage, the luxury bagmaker has some fun animations of how to pack so that you can amuse yourself instead of doing whatever it is that means you're thinking about buying Louis Vuitton luggage. (Starring on The Shire, perhaps.)
It's an exceedingly rare frequent flyer who'd take such ostentatious, expensive and impractical luggage. Not only does it scream "steal me!" but it's made much more for (supposed) style over function and would barely last a round on an airport baggage carousel.
But if you're in the market for over-the-top bags, and you (or your staff) need the packing advice to go with them -- or if you just want a bit of a laugh -- Louis Vuitton has a new website with animated videos.
Most of it's the usual advice: hard things go at the bottom, roll anything that doesn't really wrinkle, put suits and jackets on top.
For real-world advice, check out some of our packing tips for business travellers and frequent flyers.
Louis Vuitton lets you choose animations using a hard-sided hand-held (Alzer), a soft-sided roll-aboard (Pégase) or a soft-sided hand-held (Keepall).
Women travellers should head to the Alzer page, while men should hit the Pégase. Keepall contains unisex suggestions. Make sure you check the Alzer for a real retro kick: it has a separate drawer that your staff can pull out to reach the doubtless fabulous garments underneath.
Watch: Louis Vuitton: The Art of Packing -- but watch out for the autoplay music and note that it requires Flash.

My LV Roadster carry on bag is probably the best piece of luggage i've ever bought. I regularly have it checked in (and has probably survived about 20 luggage carosels now). It has been dropped out of a speeding boat off the coast of Krabi, been swept away by a wave in Queensland, and has sat in the scorching singapore sun for days on end.
And it still looks and feels the way it did when I bought it 2 years ago. There is a reason why LV is so popular, and it might have something to do with them being luggage makers for 150 years.

The beauty of Louis Vuitton luggage is not solely in its form, but also in its function. The keepall is so incredibly light, and in my experience will take an absolute thrashing and it won't even show the slightest bit of wear and tear. Although the issue with the pegase is that in the leather, like taiga leather, it hits the standard 7kg hand luggage weight restriction quickly due to the fact that the bag is very heavy.
I wouldn't personally buy Louis Vuitton luggage to check into the hold, travelpro or samsonite will do nicely there, but it's a good option for carry on as there isn't much dear old Louis wouldn't stand up to.

Durable, hard-wearing and classic luggage. Stands test of time and is very robust. Always happy to check-in bags and have never had one stolen. John, a closer look at the luggage will reveal many pieces are infact highly practical. LV must be doing something right given their wide range of goods and popularity. I regularly spot pieces on baggage belt and in cabins.
