Yes, you read that right -- a rotating underwater hotel with a helipad is being built in Dubai. And it looks like something right out of 1960s James Bond.
In terms of pure wow factor, the Water Discus Hotel beats anything that's been done in Dubai yet, exchanging views of glittering towers for glistening sealife on the floor of the Arabian Gulf.
And inside? You'll have floor-to-ceiling windows to watch the world go by.
The main residence part of the hotel -- with your underwater bedroom -- will sit 10 metres below sea level, while a main lift shaft will take you up to the aerial section.
A helipad, outdoor garden and spa will crown the building. Look for Dubai's glitziest and most exclusive business events to feature here.
Naturally, there's a swimming pool in case all that sea water (and a view of what's under the surface) make you a little wary of jumping right in.
This latest bid for "world's wackiest place to put a hotel" bragging rights follows plans by the InterContinental group to build a hotel which sinks nineteen floors down into a former quarry outside of Shanghai.
