New Aerotel airport hotel opens at London Heathrow
Whether for a six-hour stay or a more conventional overnight visit, the newly-opened Aerotel London Heathrow has you covered.
Passengers flying through the UK’s busiest airport can now relax and unwind at Aerotel London Heathrow, an on-site airport hotel located at Terminal 3.
With the same terminal being used by Qantas, Emirates, American Airlines, Cathay Pacific and a host of other carriers including some British Airways flights, the hotel’s position in the public section of T3 makes for an easy walk between the hotel reception desk and airline check-in, with the freedom to head into town at leisure.
Heathrow T3 is also connected to T2 (Star Alliance), T4 (SkyTeam, Etihad, Malaysia Airlines, Qatar Airways and others) and T5 (British Airways’ main hub, shared with Iberia) by a free inter-terminal train service, for quick access on both arrival and departure.
Whatever your journey calls for, Aerotel doesn’t merely sell overnight room rates: packages can be tailored based on blocks of time including six-hour, nine-hour and 12-hour windows – handy for those arriving early in the morning with a later evening departure – as well as the more typical overnight rates.
The 82 guestrooms start with the Solo Plus, featuring a wide single bed (shown above); there's also the Double Plus design, while larger Family Rooms can cater for up to four guests.
Travellers can also make use of a Library Lounge, designed by the hotel as a social space, with some seats suited to pre-flight work as well. Hot and cold food can be ordered, too.
Guestrooms are equipped with soothing lighting, which the company says will “ensure guests are refreshed and recharged for their onward journeys,” as well as British ‘sleep tea’ to help ease into rest.
To celebrate the opening, Aerotel London is offering room rates starting at £60 (A$110) including UK VAT for a six-hour package, with bookings of nine hours more attracting a 30% discount until December 31 2019, when made via myaerotel.com.
The news follows the opening of Aerotel Beijing at Daxing Airport earlier this month, which, like Aerotel London Heathrow, is operated by Plaza Premium: the same company behind Plaza Premium lounges.
