Sydney Airport’s hotel offering has taken a stylish turn with the arrival of Crowne Plaza Sydney Airport.
Formerly the Holiday Inn, and now the first Crowne Plaza at any Australian airport, this 252-room property is undergoing a multi-million-dollar transformation to bring an elevated experience to travellers.
The refurbishment includes revamped guest rooms, public spaces, meeting facilities, and dining options, all designed by Slack Studio and tailored to meet the demands of today’s discerning business and leisure travellers.
Now open: the Crowne Plaza Sydney Airport.
The refreshed lobby sets the tone with a contemporary flair, featuring reception pods, pendant lighting, and bold design elements.
That’s the first stage of the revitalisation, building on a transformative $15 million refurbishment in 2022 which upgraded the rooms with contemporary earthy tones, bronze light fixtures and leather headboards to create a warm, inviting atmosphere.
Now open: the Crowne Plaza Sydney Airport.
In-room amenities include Nespresso machines, Antipodes skincare products and plush bedding, with upcoming upgrades to Chromecast connectivity.
The property’s signature restaurant, Biggles Bar & Grill, will soon reopen with a fresh menu showcasing a modern take on local flavours.

Hi,
Whenever we used to come down to Sydney from the NSW region, we used to stay at the this hotel - the Holiday Inn, Sydney Airport. In recent years, we noticed the "changes" in this hotel.
Now, it is called the "Crowne Plaza". I very recently checked the prices [other than the holiday season] and they have gone "sky high". This will only alienate their clientele and perhaps some with stay elsewhere.
