Korean Air goes daily from Brisbane to Seoul

Summer is fast approaching down under – in fact, the heat is already making its presence felt. So, what better time to start planning an escape for the northern winter instead? Korean Air is adding more opportunities to do just that.

Between November 10 and March 18, 2024, the South Korean flag carrier is ramping up Brisbane to Seoul from five-times-weekly to daily flights.

Brisbane flights currently take wing on a Boeing 777, fitted with Prestige Class (its trademark name for business class) in a less than ideal 2-3-2 layout. An Airbus A330-200 takes over from late October. Its 2-2-2 setup is a slight improvement, though still no aisle access for every passenger.

Regardless of the aircraft, travellers are still in for a comfortable experience, with a lie-flat seat and 15.4” touchscreen monitor loaded with content to help while away the 10-11 hour flights. And as for the onboard dining, that’s an experience worth relishing.

However, come January 16, the aircraft will actually be switched to a Boeing 787 Dreamliner, complete with 24 spacious Prestige Suites in a staggered 2-2-2 providing direct aisle access.

The Boeing 787 Prestige Suite is a definite step up from the A330.

Enveloped by high walls, sans sliding doors, the suite features a longer and wider seat, plus a 17” touchscreen.

On arrival into Seoul, travellers are spoiled for choice on things to see and do, whether stepping back in time at the Gyeongbokgung Palace, shopping up a storm in ultra-modern Dongdaemun, or eating their fill at the likes of Gwangjang Market.

In other news, Korean Air is set to debut a fresh business class suite on its Boeing 787-10 later this year, with its long-range Boeing 777-300ER fleet to be refurbished over time.

recently flew this route and the cabin crew are the best I have experienced so polite. The 777-200 are a bit outdated with no direct aisle access for everyone and entertainment is average
