Paris, Bangkok get luxury line-up of La Clef, Metropole hotels

Paris and Bangkok will soon be home to new luxury hotels under the La Clef and Metropole brands, respectively, while two further Parisian hotels have also been adopted under the Le Clef banner.

Le Clef Tour Eiffel Paris (formerly Citadines Suites Arc de Triomphe Paris) features 112 rooms and apartments with many providing views of the Eiffel Tower from within the 19th century Haussmannian-style building, situated between the famous Champs-Elysées and Place du Trocadéro.

Several suites boast private terraces, while the hotel also features direct access to L’Hexagone, a three Michelin-starred restaurant helmed by chef Mathieu Pacaud.

Changing its name from Citadines Suites Louvre Paris, the La Clef Louvre Paris hotel offers serviced residences and private balconies for many of the rooms in the 1900s-era building serving originally as the Royal Palace Hotel.

The property’s style and design gives a nod to the golden age of trans-Atlantic ocean liners and retains many of the original hotel’s features, including 100-year-old stained-glass windows, with easy access to the Grand Louvre museum, Palais-Royal, Paris Stock Exchange and metro stations.

Joining those in 2018 will be the La Clef Champs-Élysées Paris hotel – a rebranding and makeover of the outgoing Citadines Suites Champs-Élysées Paris hotel – in a five-story building originally built by the renowned cognac distilling Hennessy family in 1907.

A smaller hotel with period design and ironwork, guests in 70 apartments can visit an on-site residents’ lounge and fitness centre, with the property also comprising a restaurant.

Across to the Thailand capital, Metropole Bangkok opens its doors in June 2016 with a touch of European charm blended with Thai elegance across 116 rooms in the Thonglor neighbourhood amidst a multitude of dining and entertainment options.

A short drive from Sukhumvit Road – the city’s primary business district – and a skytrain away from major industrial estates, guests here can relax in the swimming pool, around the lush gardens, at the gym and hot tub or in the residents’ lounge and restaurant.

These properties all fall under the banner of The Ascott Limited, the company behind Australia’s Citadines St Georges Terrace Perth, Citadines on Bourke Melbourne, Somerset on Elizabeth Melbourne, Somerset on the Pier Hobart and Somerset on Salamanca Hobart hotels.
