Peak indulgence: the best luxury hotels in Perth
The West Australian capital is home to its fair share of five star hotels.
What springs to mind when you hear the word ‘Perth’? Is it stark-white beaches and sunsets over the ocean, the jewel-like CBD hugged by the Swan River, or perhaps its status as the most isolated capital city in the world?
If it’s one of the above, you’re in fine form, yet these barely scratch the surface of what makes Perth a fascinating place to visit. There’s a distinctive culture too, palpable history, not to mention accessible hills littered with hiking trails, villages and wineries.
Whether on holiday or during a stopover to the likes of Paris or Johannesburg, you’ll need a central base from which to explore the city, and in that arena there are ample luxurious options to choose from.
In no particular order, and by no means a complete list, here are some of the best hotels in Perth.
COMO The Treasury
Tucked away off St Georges Terrace in the CBD, COMO The Treasury has been crowned Australia’s best hotel multiple times since its 2015 debut, while also picking up a slew of international accolades and awards.
What’s so special about it? It’s the history and the refinement, with the hotel occupying four levels of the late-Victorian State Buildings, impeccably styled and imbued with an atmosphere that relaxes the instant you set foot inside.
And then, there’s culinary indulgence in the form of Wildflower (the hotel’s hatted fine dining signature) and casual eatery Post, which takes its name from the former General Post Office franking room in which it resides.
Much like its siblings in Singapore and Fiji, COMO The Treasury leans heavily into wellness, featuring a Shambhala spa and even menus designed to help you feel good both inside and out.

Crown Towers Perth
A 21-storey glass-walled tower glinting in the sunlight, cascading pools lined with palms, and a succulent array of bars and restaurants ready to get the holiday vibes flowing. Sounds like a Gold Coast resort, doesn’t it?
It’s actually Crown Towers Perth – a hotel which stands out from its contemporaries thanks to its extravagant design and deep integration in the Crown Entertainment precinct, which also spans a casino, theatre and two more hotels.
As for Crown Towers, it’s the pinnacle of the group’s Perth offering. Within are 500 rooms and a ‘Crystal Club’ executive lounge, complemented by a day spa, fitness space, and a business centre for those balancing work-life and play.
And when hunger calls, the Epicurean buffet restaurant, bling-forward TWR bar, and Nobu, an outpost from acclaimed Japanese chef Nobu Matsuhisa, are a tease of what’s in store.

The Westin Perth
Imagine for a moment you’re exploring an art gallery, roaming its lengthy halls and stopping to admire works around every turn. Checking into The Westin Perth – a hotel brimming with art in its rooms, halls and even the lifts – is a bit like this, but infinitely more inviting.
The five star Perth hotel rises 28 storeys above Hibernian Place, which is an easy walk from the pedestrianised Hay or Murray Street malls at the eastern end of the CBD and only 10 minutes stroll from flourishing Elizabeth Quay.
As part of the Marriott Bonvoy stable, guests can earn points on stays in its 368 rooms and suites, as well as dining at “Roman-inspired” Garum restaurant from chef Guy Grossi.
In addition, there’s also a day spa from Bodhi (from the same group behind Qantas’ Perth International Lounge yoga studio) plus a rooftop swimming pool and 24 hour gym.

QT Perth
QT Hotels are well-known for colouring outside the lines. Each of its properties is bold, flamboyant and wholly individual. The Gold Coast couldn’t be more different from Sydney, for example. QT Perth continues the trend.
Colourful guest rooms swathed in rich jarrah timber, polished brass, and a gold suede nod to West Australia’s prospecting days; bold Black cockatoo prints above the bed heads. And don’t even get us started on the gorgeous bathrooms.
Embracing Perth’s rich Mediterranean climate, Santini Grill plates up modern Italian fare that takes you on a journey to the Amalfi Coast, with a side helping of seasonality.
If there’s a crowning glory of the hotel though, it’s the QT Rooftop – the view from this casual rooftop bar is divine, particularly in the sunset hours when the skyline’s blinking into life.
The Ritz-Carlton Perth
Elizabeth Quay is the city’s latest playground: a Swan River-side hub ringed by apartments, office blocks and eateries, and designed for embracing the West Aussie climate. It’s also where you’ll find The Ritz-Carlton Perth.
Cutting a striking silhouette along one side of the quay, the 205-room and suite hotel affords stellar views across the river and central business district, and what’s hidden within is rather splendid too.
Interiors are simply furnished – a little bit retro, yet fitted with all the modern luxuries such as twin vanities and a deep bathtub for extended soaking sessions. But really, with views like this, that’s all the artwork you need.
Hearth Restaurant and Songbird Bar & Lounge have your culinary desires taken care of, while guests checked into Club rooms enjoy access to an exclusive retreat for dining, drinks and even a few experiences tailored to showcase the local area.
