Qantas lounge access at Jakarta Airport's Terminal 3

IN BRIEF | Qantas and Jetstar will move into Terminal 3 of Jakarta's Soekarno-Hatta Airport this week, swapping their spot at the airport's rather dated Terminal 2 for the newer Terminal 3, which was opened in 2016 and mainly serves flag carrier Garuda.

A spokesman for Qantas confirmed to Australian Business Traveller that "Qantas together with Jetstar Asia will be moving to Terminal 3 at Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta International Airport from 11 May", adding "there will be no changes to the schedule of any Qantas Group services to and from Jakarta."

By the end of May, Terminal 3 will be host to all international flights into and out of Jakarta.

The spokesman also advised Australian Business Traveller that "Qantas will be using the Plaza Premium Lounge at Jakarta Terminal 3 from 11 May 2018 onwards."

Pre-flight access will be available Qantas business class passengers, Platinum and Gold frequent flyers (and their Oneworld Emerald and Sapphire equivalents) as well as Qantas Club members.

The crew on QF42 have told me several times, all the passengers tend to hungry on the flight & ready for supper.

Be interested to test in the next few months.

And people are often very early at Jakarta as the traffic to the airport, like elsewhere in Jakarta, is very unpredictable

For me it’s always a tie between Jakarta and Manila for worst airport experience. Having used T3, it’s a much nicer terminal but disappointed to see the lounge experience wnt improve.

Not only the lounge is a disappointment, but in general the aircond system is not sufficient enough to cool the whole building especially on a hot humid day.

I just went through CGK T3 last week and although it's generally a nice terminal the F&B options were a little thin on the ground. Also the terminal was absolutely boiling inside. I don't know if they had an issue that day or if the ac system just can't cope with all that glass .....

Forget about lounge access, you may get plenty of exercise with walking in the huge terminal and limited transport aids.

The walk is prolly equal to Changi or other big airport, but with the bad aircond system, less travel actor and a boring design, the walk can exhaust yourself

The AC can definitely cope, as it was freezing cold inside when I was there back in December.
Further experiences:

Arrival (international flight): great, took only 20 minutes to get from gate to car park. No queues anywhere, very fast to get through immigration and customs. Let's see if this remains the same when more airlines will use this terminal.

Departure (domestic flight): gate was located away from the middle of the concourse so we unexpectedly had to rush to get to the gate on time since we didn't expect the long walk (no advance warning of walking times on the signs).
