Royal Brunei has become the latest airline to unveil a new uniform, which will debut in April with the launch of its Boeing 787 service from Melbourne to Brunei and on to London.
The simple yet stylish look takes its cue from the rich heritage of this tiny sovereign state nestled on the north coast of the island of Borneo.
"The new ensemble reflects Bruneian tradition,' Royal Brunei explains.
The uniform's warm colour palette ranges from "coral dust to morning sky to fresh mint, based on crew seniority" the airline notes.
Female crew blouses have been detailed with traditional songket patterns along the hem, trim and back, with matching headscarves and chestnut brown skirts.
Male crew members wear three-piece suits in matching brown, with Malay-inspired shirts with traditional standing collars based on the same three key colours.
It's an elegantly pared-back upgrade to the airline's current uniform.

To be honest I prefer the older uniform over the new uniform, which is quite more stylish. The new one kind of makes the women's heads look like dumplings.

Dumplings indeed! I think it's supposed to be an 'enhanced' headscarf, but you know how airlines go about with their enhancements.
The blokes look bloody good, though!

LOL, I know what you mean Alvin! Overall I like the new look, less cluttered that the patterns on the old ones, and the chocolate brown pants (and jackets for the men) are a nice touch.
