I am a LTG member with a bucket load of points but like most have commented next to no J class redemptions out of Australia. Now that my rusted on hand cuffs are off I am crediting my points on International long haul to BA Avios, which I hope to transfer to QR and then also top up via Amex...

Many years back I had a relative come to Syd on a brand new 747-400. So it has been done. QF had a ridiculous return fare at the time. I just don't recall if it was ex Boeing or LA or SF.

Given you have a few trips why not use points one way. Then keep buying MAA to CMB return on UL then I class business CMB to Australia return Can get tickets for 2200 AUD or so. During promo you get on CMB to Syd for instance 320SC one way. One return in business will get you gold. Do all and you...

Focus seem to be in China and HK. VA should consider India and partner with SQ there. Only AI flys once a day and they could have one aircraft on rotation. VA has better chance of competing with AI than QF and CX. Also a lot of Indian traffic don't want to fly AI. I guess it all comes down to yie...
