Cathay Pacific is adding a sixth weekly flight between Adelaide and Hong Kong from October 28, 2018, while changing flight times to adopt a 'split schedule' of both afternoon and late evening departures.
The additional flight is a new Friday service on the airline's stalwart Airbus A330.
With six flights each week, Cathay Pacific will rejig its Adelaide timetable so that three flights from Hong Kong will be overnights, with CX176 departing at 12.15am every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday to reach Adelaide at 11.40am the same day.
We'd suggest taking advantage of any of Cathay's excellent Hong Kong lounges to enjoy supper before you set foot on the flight so that you can maximise your sleep once airborne.

The CX174 return leg leaves Adelaide at a leisurely 1pm to arrive into Hong Kong at 7.20pm each Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.
If either of those flight times don't work with your schedule, consider the Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday roster for flights CX173/CX176.
This sees a 9.15am departure from Hong Kong to land in Adelaide at 8.35pm; it's then wheels-up from Adelaide at 10.15pm to make an overnight return to Hong Kong for a 5.05am touchdown.
Here's the complete Adelaide-Hong Kong timetable you get your head around the changed times and choose the flights which suit you best.
