Flew on QF EK code share Perth to Dubai then onto Manchester. Am Q club member. Used Q club in Perth then was invited to Emirates business lounge in Dubai. On my return, was not allowed to use Emirates lounge in Manchester, but was again allowed to use Emirates lounge in Dubai?? Has anyone else had an issue with this? I flew cattle class so the travel class was not the issue.

Hi Lawrence,
Unfortunately there are no lounge provisions for Qantas Club members in MAN.
Prior to the dissolution of the QF/BA Joint Venture Agreement (JVA), you would have had the use of the BA Terrace Lounge in MAN. However revocation of the QF/BA agreement on lounge access, followed shortly by the dissolution of the QF/BA JVA means that the only "Qantas Club" available in the whole of Europe is in LHR; that being the AA lounge at Terminal 3.
Qantas Club access policy is stark in its omission but somewhat deceptive in its description;
Description: 'New! Qantas Club Members and Eligible Skywards members as well as customers in First and Business cabins will have access to Emirates and Qantas Lounges."
Read futher....
Omission: "Qantas Club members will continue to have access to Qantas operated International Business Lounges and will be welcomed at the Emirates Business lounge in Dubai when their next onward flight that day is with Qantas or Emirates.
When travelling from London, Qantas Club members will have access to the American Airlines Admirals lounge at London Heathrow when the next onward flight that day is with Qantas or Emirates."
On the basis of this fact, all other lounges in European ports offered by QF through a codeshare with EK is out of bounds to Qantas Club members.

Thanks for the response. Much appreciated. I have checked the website and what you are saying is correct, its just a few smoke and mirrors around the partnership that shows it is not a full partnership after all. Fancy only having AA lounge in the whole of Europe available when you travel QF/EK?
