Given the economic situation in Sri Lanka right now I wondered if this is impacting Sri Lankan airlines. There are reports of additional fuel stops being made in India as there is no aviation fuel in Sri Lanka at the moment. I'm due to fly with them to Europe soon and considering whether it might be a good idea to look at some other options. Would be interested to hear anyone's recent experiences.
If they cancel your flights, which most likely is going to happen, they will reroute you with another airline. I do not think they would do this without knowing what flights they are cancelling. Thanks to China, the country is reeling in so much debt! I hope they come out of this well.
A workmate recently flew them Melb to India, he had no drama transitting at Colombo Airport, and it was a normal flight with normal service. He said all flights were pretty full too.
