I'm 87 status credits from lifetime Gold, so I should get there soon.
I'm pretty sure I've got at least 18 months Qantas Club membership still to run - it's been sitting there for many years since I last hit Gold. Obviously I'll never need this again.
A while back I think someone suggested Qantas would give a pro-rata refund of unused Qantas Club membership. Which seems fair - but given that I've long forgotten about the money, I'd prefer being able to give the residual membership to a family member.
Anyone had any luck asking QF to do this? Surely that's also better for them - paying for a few lounge visits for an occasional traveller - rather than paying out in cash?
The last time I spoke to QF about my unused QC membership they couldn’t even find it in the system, about 2 and a half years worth of a 4 year membership that I paid for in 2014 and then made gold in 2015 and each year since, luckily QF have extended status again but it would appear my QC membership has disappeared, I would be calling them first to see if they still have it in the system.

Why would anyone bother buying 4 years of QC ? That's hysterical 🤣
Because I wanted lounge access and was only bronze and silver? I did the same had a four year membership I think it has 2 years left. Been Gold and WP since. I bought 4 years so I did not have the hassle of renewing every year! Nothing hysterical about it.
A few years ago you were able to request they refund the Qantas Club membership after you received lifetime Gold. I'm not sure if this is the case anymore. An email to their customer care could probably assist.

Seems fairly sensible to me. I used to do that but now have had life time gold and now platinum for some time. Alas only one more year of platinum so a soft landing to life time gold.
