I know this question has been asked a few times, both before and during covid (where restrictions might have been different).

I'm traveling on SQ from MEL-SIN, then on EY from SIN-AUH.

The layover is 14 hours

I'm unclear whether I can use the transit lounge and have the lovely people there help to re-tag our bags to AUH, or whether we will have to collect our bags, kick around for 10 or so hours and then check in for the 2nd leg?

I've looked at this link and it appears it should be ok to transit (and therefore check in to a transit hotel for some sleep), but I wanted to see if anyone has recent experience of doing this.

Thanks all

You'll be able to stay airside. When your flight lands, head straight for the nearest transit check-in station which is airside. Do not clear immigration and collect your bag. The agents will issue your boarding pass for your second leg flight, and organize to have your luggage collected at the carousel, re-tag it, and load it onto your second leg flight. You don't have to do a thing. They'll do it all for you. That leaves you 14 hours airside to sleep and relax until your next flight. Oh, yes...we LOVE smooth and seamless Changi.
