Anyone knows if it possible? Booking classic reward seats is a most challenging quest and to get ticket to/from Europe it is often necessary to make two booking because one leg available today and second may be available few months later. So having two separate booking may I join them into one? Reason is simple - do not argue at airport to check luggage to final destination.
No. You simply cannot merge two different PNRs. In most cases, you will be automatically protected in case of an IROPS when the two flights are operated by the same airline, even in separate bookings. Baggage through-check is usually okay as long as no BA flight is involved.
For travel agents, it is possible to ticket different flights separately of one itinerary under the same PNR. According to OneWorld policy, you will also be automatically protected. I think QF has a dedicated page for this policy.
Impossible to say without specifics? Which airline/ alliance/ how did you book / etc.
generally speaking: No.
once you have your bookings (and assuming they are at least on same alliance) you can try to call your carrier and ask to combine, if that doesn’t work you can try at the airport. 9/10 time the agent won’t be able to do it unless you come across someone very competent and willing to overwrite the system (happens to me on alaska + QF combination). Good luck

Both legs are QF classic reward booked on QF website, one LHR-HKG with BA while other HKG-MEL with QF. Layover about 6 hr. In the golden past they checked baggage to destination withing OneWorld without any hesitation at check-in even if one leg was reward and another commercial. 3-4 years ago they became much more difficult and trying to decline it as much as possible.
You are best off to just change your booking with QF to include the second leg. Might cost you 5 or 6k more points, but worth the peace of mind knowing your booking is all on one PNR
