I'm Platinum, get free breakfasts in the Asia-Pacific, suite night upgrades, and access to the very few Executive Lounges they offer (it usually excludes the very nice ones like the Fairmount Gold Lounge).
Status recognition is also very patchy and the franchisee picks and chooses what to recognise.
With your spend you'd probably get Diamond after a year, which doesn't really give you much extra apart from free breakfasts on weekends worldwide. That's it.
I have been with IHG over the years and I m not sure the Royal Ambassador has the pull it had years ago. For me I go for the 40 nights to get the lounge pass. Free breaky and drinks. Does me.
To be honest the executive lounge food these days is woeful unfortunately.
Ive been Accor platinum for around 7 years. I get 25% off dining for 1 or 50% off dining for 2 even if not staying in the hotel when you upgrade to plus which pays for itself very quickly. Their range from cheap to 5 star meets any business or leisure need I have. Welcome drinks, exec lounges, upgrades do vary but some are outstanding. They are not well represented in America so that would be a factor. Cant compare to other chains but for Asia/Australia travel and some Europe it meets my needs very nicely.

Yes, some hotels better than other for Lounge offerings. Intercon Singapore, London, Sydney, Hong KOng and I suspect other major cities is stil good. Once in mainland China it can get a tad patchy even at Intercons.
You're right, not quite the draw it was but it appears better than Accor according to other replies. Safe travels and thanks for the reply. :-)

I've been an IHG Royal Ambassador for around 10+ years, spend around 100 nights per year in IHG hotels and spend of AUD30k+ Per annum.
Royal Ambassador renewal for 2024 downgrades the free minibar and replaces it with 25 x USD20 Food & Beverage credits.
I'm fast losing faith in the brand and am considering a move to Marriott or Accor......
Interested to hear the thoughts of elite Accor or Marriott members on their benefits and experiences.....
