I had to change my existing flight dates with VA from Perth Brisbane in Business Class yesterday. The 0600 hrs flight i had to use was around $1750 but the 1000hhrs flight was $550 extra. Both flights had only 2 vacant J Class. How can it justified given the only difference between the two is the departure time of the flight yet it is $550 extra for a flight 4 hours later ??

supply versus demand, which is a bit steep for a recliner. But they can because QF charges alot more, but also....people drink like a fish at "lunch" compared to a breakfast service.

I guess not much demand to fly at 6am. Welcome to market-driven business. No one can deny that they still making money on 6am flight, so why they charge more for 10am one? Because they can. I personally missing those old good days when we have Qantas/Anset duo and prices was flat and depend only how flexible ticket was.
