Coming off a QF domestic in Sydney and transferring to JQ international. Will QF allow me to use their free airside bus between terminals? Any one experience this?
By the wording on the Qantas website, I would say no but it probably depends if your luggage is checked through onto the Jetstar international service when you check in at Qantas domestic. If it is and you have been given your JQ boarding pass, it would be worth going to gate 15 and trying your luck. If declined, you will need to go outside of T3 and get the free T-Bus across to international. T-Bus isn't bad and seems to run every 15 minutes during peak times and 30 minutes at other times.
If your luggage is not checked through, you have no option but to collect your luggage from the baggage carousel and use T-Bus over to T1 and check in from scratch.
From the QF website it seems baggage transfer QF(dom) to JQ(int) is permitted. As for the transfer bus, definitely try your luck at gate 15. Otherwise with no baggage maybe the train T3-T1 is a better choice?
Qantas have transferred me at Gate 15 on multiple when travelling on Air India or other interline airlines that they have no relationship with. I’m sure they would with Jetstar too.
