Hello. Just wondering if anyone has any recent updates on the progress on the new Qantas First Lounge at LHR or an update on the Qantas Lounge at Auckland. Thank you
London lounge is meant to open at the same time as Project Sunrise. It was originally going to be late 2025 but assume it will be delayed in line with the Sunrise flights.
It won't happen anytime soon if the time to fitout the current QF Lounge at LHR is any indication. Just the construction phase alone took close to 3 years, with white plywood hoarding across the entrance for that long.
Any updates on the renovation of the Sydney Domestic Business Lounge which was announced pre-Covid? They have commandeered part of Qantas Club, added some carpet and a toasted sandwich bar but what about the promised refurb? The neglect of this lounge is quite criminal given its importance in the network, particularly when Qantas seems happy to invest in irrelevant regional lounges like Adelaide.
FYI, we've repeatedly approached Qantas seeking an update on all these lounges - AKL, SYD and MEL - and so far nothing has been forthcoming.
That said, I'd not be surprised if there is some update announced around the time of the 1H25 financials in Feb.
But the biggest challenge there for Qantas is that despite years of press release and promises on these three fronts, passengers are seeing nothing - so one can forgive the inevitable scepticism that will greet those next announcements. AKL, SYD and MEL were already long overdue for improvements before the announcements were made many years ago.

They need to announce the changes a few more times before they actually do anything.
