Hi, does anybody have any Express Lane Passes for customs at international airports, departures or arrivals?
I have seen some on eBay, but not recently, and have bought them before. I would like them for a trip in August, preferably two, but one would be great? Will pay for and postage?
Thanks.

Depending on what airline you are travelling on, Its easy enough to ask for them at the Qantas club

You normally don't have to pay for them. Normally premium passengers are given them, but if you ask nicely at check-in they may give them to you especially if you are a QF club member or the like.

If you ae travelling in J or F or Gold or higher you get them automatically at check in. From experience they take them off you at SYD

Depending on what time you're flying, and what time you arrive at the airport, you may not even need them. Mornings are super-busy these days until around 9ish, but by 9.30am it's the lull between the morning and lunchtime waves. I've lately had several Qantas flights departing around 1pm, so by habit I arrive at the airport at 10am (to make the most of my time in the Qantas First lounge) and it's dead quiet, so much so that I don't even need to use the express lane - I just pocket the express lane card and head to one of the 'normal' security lanes (but I can't send those cards your way, Daniel, as I have already given them away to friends with their own trips coming up). So, if you can check in around 10am you will find almost no queue. Of course, you'd then want to have lounge access rather than be stuck hanging around Sydney International Airport for three hours!

This may be a silly question David, but if you try and use an airline branded express card, when there is clearly no flight for that airline leaving within 6 or so hours - will anyone at security be bothered?

Not at all. I flew AirNZ last week and used Qantas Express cards. If they asked, all you'd need to say is that you are well looked after by Qantas.

444desiro: I'm a firm believer that there's no such thing as a silly question; and in this instance, the people at the airport who collect these cards barely even look at them, so in my experience it doesn't matter at all. I've many times used the express lane card from one airline for taking a flight on another and there's no problem. All they seem to care about is that you have an express card.

I was flying Auckland to Melbourne on Virgin Australia (AirNZ metal).
I had a Virgin Australia express pass left over from a previous flight, so decided to use the self check in kiosk to save time - don't get an express pass when check in with kiosk.
The customs lady in Auckland rejected me because my VA express pass did not match my AirNZ flight, I had to join the end of the VERY LONG customs queue. Needless to say, I won't be making that mistake again.

Make that Melbourne to Auckland.
The customs lady at Melbourne rejected by express pass.
