Traveling from Syd - Sing on the 26th at 1pm approx with Qantas. Traveling in J but would love to go into the QF F lounge as that's truly a amazing place to chill before a flight. Has anyone a spare F invite or perhaps traveling international that day who is a platinum. Posted this on other frequent flyer forums but had no joy. just thought id ask at least.
TRB: 'pimping', LOL, you crack me up! I'm picturing a shady-looking Platinum member hanging around near the door of the Sydney lounge, asking bystanders if they want access to the lounge at a price!
Seriously though: I've guested the odd stranger into a lounge, mainy somebody on their own (as guesting is limited to one person) usually either a priest or nun (a remnant of my old Catholic school upbringing!) but from time to time an appealing young lady :) ... it's a nice little 'good deed' that one can do.
@David: Were you able to deduct this kind of "charity" from your taxes in any kind of way, shape or form??? It is like giving money to the church right??
I do all my domestic flying with Virgin and requalified after only a few months and often guest people into the lounge myself, if im chatting to someone for example in a long security queue in a airport like adelaide il offer it to them if they are flying VA.
I just thought id check in here, on AFF there are huge threads about guesting people into lounges but not had any luck with it. If i dont have any luck il still have the QF J lounge which im sure is fine, but it aint no F lounge.
LoveToFly: The Qantas First lounge is a great experience, especially the food (and the spa, if you can snare a booking) but the Qantas Business lounge is still pretty good. The spread of food is quite good, and it's worth trying their home-made (well, lounge-made) gelato and/or their own blend hot chocolate.

I wonder if pimping your Platinum/OW Emerald status a contravention of the FF T&C?
Or does there need to be a consideration involved in the transaction for a breach to occur?
