Interesting side point. As a society we believe these devices won't cause cancer or other illnesses but we believe it will crash a plan if we don't turn it off during take-off and/or landing

I know a few other operators who are also working with the operator. I have been in a plane where the phone interference has interefered with my radio calls, it was no big deal, but i have also known people who say their instruments have been slightly interefered with.

I have been on a few flights from Sydney to Melbourne over the last couple of months and noticed 2 or 3 people around me leave their phones on during take off and landing with no noticeable difference in the behaviour of the plane. Whether that was due to pilot or not, not sure, but was interesting to observe.
