Velocity double status points offer. See your email. "Remember, to be eligible for this offer, you must book a flight between 6 and 15 March 2014 and travel between 30 April and 25 June 2014."
I know. Spewin. I just recently booked return flights CBR - PER in June. I know that for such promotions they would have their reasons for when they release them, obviously trying to attract maybe some spontaneous travelers or trying to attract bilateral customers by giving them that little bit extra. But why do you think they wouldn't give even just a little bit more notice. Why not advertise the promotion even only a week before the booking period?
Just looking at booking a couple of flights tonight - interestingly, during the dates of the promotion, there are zero Saver Lite fares available between MEL & SYD on a Friday between 2pm and 7pm. Curious, huh?
I think it might be exclusive to those receiving the email offer. I'm VA platinum and got an email from Velocity asking me to register my FF number for the offer to be valid.
"Dear Mr ...
For a limited time, we’re offering double Status Credits every time you fly on an eligible domestic Virgin Australia flight between 30 April and 25 June2014*. Simply register and book between 6 and 15 March 2014, inclusive."
Maybe it depends on how close you are to retaining Plat, as to whether you get the double SC or double points email? My review date is in October and I have 120 SC to go to retain Plat... maybe if you are closer to reaching the 800 SC retain limit, say <100 points to retain and quite clearly will make it, they offer you the double points email?
I also received this double Velocity points deal (no mention of Status Credits). But it's not surprising there's no credits bonus because they have only recently had a double credits deal. If you booked in the last week of December and flew in Feb/March, you would get double credits, but no extra Velocity Points. I took that up and earned 320 credits on a PER-DPS return trip.
I got the status points offer, which was convenient as I have a stack of flights to book over the offer period and suddenly platinum seems achievable this year
Platinum and recieved the double points offer. I did just bank over 400 status credits in my first days of mantaining. So could be related to how far off you are from that 800 SC?

Unfortunately this doesn't look like its double status. It's only double points

It's a targeted offer. I was offered double points (I'm Gold), my manager (Platinum) was offered double status.

I am Plat and received double Velocity points offer, no Status Credit offer. I wonder what the criteria are to be offered the SC's?
