So much so, in fact, that I've noticed this morning yet another improvement (as distinct from enhancement). The public water fountains at SYD T3 have had their coldness and water pressure improved significantly so road warriors can enjoy faster, more streamlined journey into the bottle.
It's a new era in hydration, providing greater recognition for continued loyalty (i.e. being in the terminal long enough to want free water).
Cool story bro. BTW the public fountains, as most of the utilities in T3 are owned by Sydney Airport Corporation so it's actually them that you should be thanking.
Yes, they do indeed have a long lease. I believe the lease was one of the things put on the table by Alan Joyce during their 'budget crisis', though ultimately it was the BNE terminal that got the long lease returned in favour of an annual lease.
But the upgraded fountains are enormously satisfying to drink from, so it's not all nickel and diming! :P
I was rather delirious at seven o'clock this morning when I posted this.
Ahhh Watson, I filled my bottle yesterday in T3 before a flight home to Perth. Did the job and better than paying stupid-amount for same at the shop.
My only gripe about T3 is the long ugly tube that covers the travelator. It spoils what is one of the best terminals in the world in my view. My wish is for Qantas to put a mock-up of the new business suite in the terminal for customers to see and try.

QF still has the lease on T3 until 2019 which includes management of it... and I assume public fountains.

More importantly, have they fixed the slow pancake machine in the QC?
