The Second QF Narita flight will probably be Melbourne run on alternate days to jetstar's service. I can't see it being Perth.

It would actually be hilarious if it was Sydney.

I actually think Sydney would make some sense for this, as there's already a proven market for Sydney-Narita flights (ie, exists right now) and there may be some Sydney-based travellers who'd prefer Narita to Haneda. But Melbourne would also be a good move, for variety and an alternative to going via Sydney for Qantas or going direct with Jetstar.

A switch should occur such that we have a daily SYD/NRT, which would offer a real competitive advantage to JL's service.
The NRT slots should then be allocated to MEL/NRT services aimed at the semi leisure market as well value punters wishing to connect to the US via AA and CX.

I heard it was Sydney by quite a few people, they may also be wrong though.

I would put my money on Sydney, QF has the whole system in place for SYD-NRT, easier to keep that and tap into current demand than shift to a whole new unproven route like MEL-NRT.

MEL-NRT is not unproven; although it is nowhere near as solid as SYD-NRT, it has a JQ service most days of the week.

That's true, although I'd suspect there would be some challenges in Qantas modelling demand for its own services based on those of Jetstar...

Qantas has increased the number of flights for the BNE to NRT route from 4 per week to daily. It can be booked now.

Omg, you can now connect to a day flight out via BNE or a night flight out via SYD.
