I feel Qantas will struggle with a 737. I personally would much rather fly on a widebody, especially when paying a premium. Qantas would need to be priced below SQ
That said, it is good to see Qantas possibly returning to Perth for internaltion
Bear in mind that the AirlineRoute website merely republishes entries in the GDS booking system, and those entries (even though they're loaded by airlines) are not always accurate. We've seen plenty of mistake entries, dummy what-if schedules etc appear in the GDS and subsequently 'reported' by AirlineRoute, so don't consider anything in the GDS as an absolute lock.
While this Perth-Singapore Boeing 737 service may come to pass (and it wouldn't surprise me if it did), for now this is best treated as a 'maybe' and 'what-if' – exactly as Sim1 and Grannular have done – rather than confirmation that it's definitely gonna happen.
Anything over 3 hours in a 737 is tough going unless it is a day flight in each direction, even in J. Could it be AJ's master plan of surprising us all by bringing the 787-9 in earlier? Making more wide body aircraft available for this run.

If they book out pretty quick they wont have any other option but to upgrade to a widebody.
But do they have any widebodies sitting in Perth most days to do a daily?

They wouldn't have international spec A330's lying around in Perth. Maybe PE style business class but you can't possibly run those internationally

Agreed it would be nice to have international a330's on per-sin but any QF a330 would be better that a 737 would't it?

Hallelujah if it comes to pass.
Plenty of domestic A330s seems to sit on the tarmac overnight in Perth. Maybe one of them could be deployed.
And the Lounge at international will actually serve some Qantas customers for a change.

Couldn't see the 737 being a huge success on that route unless it finds a clever schedulling niche, specifically with connections.

It would be great because it is true shame that Perth international serves by anybody except Qantas.

So maybe Plan B (http://www.ausbt.com.au/qantas-tips-relaunch-of-perth-singapore-flights) is to use 737s!!
