That member just joined today, but the contact details seem to be correct, and referenced elsewhere. Maybe they just got around to AusBT today?

Well the email provided by Etihad looks legitimate so we'll give it another go.
Thanks again to everyone for their feedback!

There is a saying.....without a travel agent, you are on your own.
They have contacts to get these things sorted. In the premium cabins it is very rare for an agent not to be able to have access to the same levles as the online fares. Keep this in mind for your next trip.

Travel agents was useful in the past, but nowadays when everyone booked in internet they just bunch of parasites who doing nothing just suck our money and responsible for nothing - you have very little if any chances get on them even through court. Yes I have very nasty experience.

Well - good luck to you, Serg ... you are on your own (but please don't complain when you are stuck somewhere without assistance).

Your best bet is to book directly with airline - then you may expect some assistance. And expectations are higher with more reputable airline. But what kind of assistance you expecting from Melbourne based agent when you stuck somewhere in Europe? Do not fool yourself - they do not give a damn!

Don't generalise, Serg. It is unbecoming.

I have problem with Etihad and I have incredibly low opinion on their customer service - basically IMHO they do not care after customers at all once you paid your money. Your best bet is to be first on plane and politely talk to fellow passengers to exchange seats. And I agree it truly sux.

I have had this happen with BA and Cathay both in j class where I had asked at the check in counter to be sitting together and confirmed only to find out when bording they had split us up .the problem here lies with the airlines they sometimes use contractors at overseas checkin counter s whom I find sometimes take a dislike to j and f passengers knowing you are leaving the country these people have what is called small person syndrome and sometimes get amused or find it funny!! Disrupting buisiness executives.
