I'd rate Cathay Pacific's The Wing Business lounge as the best of them - especially for the Noodle Bar! - with The Cabin second after that. The lounges of an airline's hub airport tend to be best of the bunch.
I would rate the cabin pretty highly! I always judge a lounbge on its view, and in the Cabin you almost look up at the 747s! The QF J lounge is pretty comparable, more so that the current F lounge. Samre decor as SIN/SYD/MEL, it comes across as more intimate than SIn tho and the food was superb last time I was in there! Lacks a deccent view though.......Completely different location, but kinda like the new Canbera lounges, I go to the Busines loung for food, then to the QC for a beer and a view of the tarmac!
Certainly the CX lounges are better in everyway, only question is which CX lounge to go to. The Wing is near gate 2, The Pier is around 65, The Cabin is gate 20. I think QF is around 16. If you're flying QF out of HK, you are likely to be leaving around gate 16, so you could go to both the Wing and the Cabin.
If you are not a platinum member (access to business lounge only), The Cabin is the most quiet and high quality, probably because that is the only lounge without a separate first class area. The food is the best there. The Wing is also currently under renovations. Only problem with the Cabin is that it is the only lounge with no showers.
I recently flew CX and had the opportunity to try out both the CX (The Pier) amd QF lounges.
My verdict: The QF lounge is much better for the following reasons;
1) Less crowded
2) A lot more nestled and cosy
3) Food options that cater for a more Anglo/European palate
4) The familiarity factor is important to me when I travel. The QF lounge ticks the box there - The essence of Qantas oozes from that lounge, which makes its warm, welcoming, pleasant and non-foreign.
So if these are the factors you consider more imporatant, then I suggest you try the QF lounge.
However saying that, the barista at the CX lounge serves fantastic coffee! The barista at the QF lounge also does decent coffee but there was an edge to the coffee from the CX lounge.
