Am looking at trying EK first class from AKL to SYD on a return leg. If I book through QF website as a separate PNR it comes up as NZD $900 compared to AUD$1000+ if done as part of a return SYD-AKL-SYD.
I have done this several times bought a one way j ticket to auck then purchased a return j ticket auck to Melb using the NZ site with Emirates, usually saves a few hundred dollars.all perfectly legitimate
All tickets are cheaper when bought everywhere outside Australia. Quote any route by any carrier AUS-ANYWHERE-AUS and then ANYWHERE-AUS-ANYWHERE and see

OK thanks. I know this is extending the question but I am looking at a round-the-world first class bucket list trip.
Am I better doing all this 'off shore' than from Australia? Any tips?
Being a QC/QFF member oneworld is preferred and tbh from my research already seem to have better options.
