What's the likelihood of Qantas activating the A320neo options on August 20 or at least next year and giving transferring some to Qantas? Although if they were to have like 60-70 for Qantas they they would need to order another 30-40 to make an order of like 140 for 50-60 for Jetstar Are they from 2016-2020? And of course

Qantas dont have any A320 in mainstream fleet, and not likely to change. For Efficiency, long-term profitability and MRO purposes its far more cost effective to stick with the same baseline aircraft ie: B737, so they'll go 737MAX for Qantas aircraft before getting A320 switched from jetstar allocation.

Yeah I meant activating Qantas activating the options for Jetstar and transferring some to Qantas. I thought it would make sense for Qantas and Jetstar to have the same narrow body fleet. Surely that could make things more efficient in some aspects?

Qantas group A320neo order isn't for delivery till 2020 and they've said it's all for Jetstar.
I agree with lotsamiles that it would be unlikely they would switch to A320 for Qantas mainline as it would mean retraining all their flight crew on a different aircraft. Unless there is a big economic benefits they will likely go with the 737MAX.
Also remember they are about to refurb the older 737-800 fleet so there is plenty of life left in them yet.

I think Qantas have good insight in running two popular narrow-body aircraft on same routes, as they can get long-term performance and profitability for each airframe (B737 vs. A320) to then make decisions based on economics, balanced by customer experience being equal across both types.

Yeah I guess your right about that? Would VA ordering the 737MAX from 2018 make any pressure on Qantas to order the like 60-70 737MAX. I guess also a future Boeing fleet of 737MAX,787 and 777X would be great
