Does an Admirals Club 30 day membership grant me (and one guest) access to the new Qantas Hong Kong Lounge? We are both travelling from Hong Kong to Brisbane in Y on a QF flight in February 2016.

As per the AA website you are permitted two guests, however I believe the rules were changed a while ago to only provide access to QF lounges when flying on an AA operated flight or AA code on QF metal, access is no longer granted if you purchase a flight with a QF code. It appears to be supported by the statement on the AA Webite;
Select Qantas Clubs when departing on the same day on an American Airlines operated flight or an American marketed flight operated by Qantas

LondonAussie has proven through his recent trip report that the old rules still apply.
Georg, if you do try, can you please report back so that we can have further confirmation.

The rules seem to change constantly. Rather confusing! Will definitely report back. Hopefully there may be further clarification in the next few months since Qantas and AA will be joining forces across the Pacific in Dec. Thanks everyone.

I am going to say no, as I am fairly certain the reciprical rights apply only at QC and Australia Airport Int Lounges.
But, as TRB said, give it a try and report back.

We've had cases where access to QF LAX lounge is granted to Admirals Club members flying QF code and metal. The agents themselves volunteered that information. This occurred earlier this year.

I cant really validate or argue with that.
however, LAX is a subport of AA, HKG isn't. OP just needs to give it a go and see :)

I see your point. It is precisely this sort of uncertainty that I decided to build in the cost of at least OW Sapphire into my annual budgets. The uncertainty is too much of a bother.

Georg, according to the Admirals club website, the Qantas Lounge in HKG is not in the Admirals Club network

LondonAussie, you are correct.
I emailed AA and they have confirmed the following:
"A 30 day Admirals Club membership will not give you access to the Qantas Lounge in Hong Kong".
When l travel with my other half (who has QF Gold), lounge access is not a problem. In February I am travelling with a friend. Even though I am QF Silver and have a complimentary pass for myself, I can't bring my friend into the fabulous Qantas Lounge with me.
Thank you to everyone here for your answers. Happy Travels.
