Its like a current affairs story about petrol prices where they interview motorists at the petrol station and they all say 'oh, umm, yeah, umm, I think that, umm, the guvment should like do more to make petrol cheaper'.

Personally say unlikely. Their existing deliveries are still almost two years away from commencing deliveries
I would say more chance of
- a dividend or capital return
- a narrowbody order (or confirmtion that QF will move to 320neos)
- a 777x/350 order
- buying two additional A380s from MH

We already know that the oldest planes in the fleet (the non reconfigured 747-400) will be replaced by the 787-9.
The next oldest are the original 737-800 birds so seeing a solid replacement plan for those would seem to be the next priority. It may be that there is confirmation of some of the A320neo order going to QFd but it wouldn't surprise me if an order for the 737MAX is on the way. Surely there woulud be a massive saving to Qantas in not having to retrain pilots to fly the A320 (although they may see it as a union bargaining chip having commonality in the narrow body fleet with Jetstar).
