The seat map said for a couple of weeks we were to be on one of the new QF A330s 648 this Sunday and just changed back to the old EBM/N seat map. Booked buisness for that flight. Has anyone had this happen to them but in the end it was the new configuration after all when you board?

Generally, it won't change after about 48 hours till the flight (That's what I've seen) but aircraft can go technical or other things can happen.
What you should do is prepare for the old and if you get the new seats then it's a little extra bonus.

Booked A330 and 737 at the gate. Hope for the best but prepare for the worst.

I flew Sydney to Perth return a couple of weeks back.
A few days prior to departure, seat maps showed the new business class suites.
So I put in a points upgrade each way (I'm Plat).
Then I get upgraded and the horror unfolds. It's not the new business class suite, it's not the old skybed, it's not even the old recliner seats. It was those awful seats which are basically just economy seats, with the middle seat blocked off in the middle row. What a disgrace. Qantas customer care didn't want to have a bar of it when I asked for a proportion of my points back. There is no way in hell I would have wasted valuable points upgrading to that rubbish seat.

And even the food wasn't that great. Going over to Perth, by the time the dessert cart got to me there was only one dessert type left. And going back to Sydney, the main (a steak) was literally a big quite tough lump of meat (very dry) with no sauce or anything. Utter disgrace.
