Has anyone booked business class flights to LAX with a travel agent and included first class bookings domestically for the USA? I am having issues explaining to the travel agent that my velocity account is showing economy for domestic flights when I've paid for first class - just want to know if anyone has had this issue and how the best way to rectify it. So it has been a week and I still do not have an answer with the travel agent. First time using a travel agent in all the travel I have ever done.......

It depends on the air fare paid. The majority of US carriers allow First class for internal sectors if there is no Business class cabin.
It shouldn't take a week for the travel agent to give you an answer.I suggest you use a "Boutique" agency that specialises in Business/First travel.I'm one but obviously can't advertise here.
Please don't give up on finding a good agent. You need someone to call when everything turns to custard.
Without a travel agent you'e on your own!

Its why I dont use travel agents anymore and simply book direct with the airlines. Not worth the hassle and when things do go wrong, who better to speak directly to then the operator themeslves.

An airline will always put their own interest before yours Russell in order to keep their revenue. You obvoisly don't have complicated, multiple sector mixed carriage itineraries when you travel, otherwise you'd soend all your time talking to several airlines using your logic.
Read the excellent post from sgb.Says it all.

While its pretty clear you are a travel agent Neil, i actually have no problem managing my own multiple sector mixed carriage itineraries,
I have yet to find an agent that can do anything that i cant do myself.

I've had the same travel agent for 25+ years. First found him at a major national, then he partnered in his own firm. I like loyalty and like my loyalty to be rewarded. He has contacts and very quick ways of getting answers I want. His contacts at the Airlines can be very beneficial when he mentions a VIP client of his...doors open.
