WHO? Since Qantas abandoned Perth travellers (and put them on Emirates), I've flown Qatar to European destinations out of Perth.
WHY? Qatar is a far supior ME airline IMHO to the offering of Emirates. Better hard and soft product (espeically before recent upgrade by Emirates to A380). Better flight timings in and out of Perth. Just wish they'd put on an A380. Nicer lounge in Doha.
FUTURE: Probably return to QF if they start direct 18hr flights to UK out of Perth (maybe).
I tend to agree.. before the QF EK tie up I would never have flown EK, very underwhelming product, as you say especially before the A380... I don’t understand why so many people fly them... it’s not like they are cheaper either.
PER-LHR would be great although 18hrs is a little daunting,
great schedule re our european destinations - great service and food - seat a little dissapointing compared to QF CX etc but timing great - no need to schlepp to SYD or MEL and add more time onto journey
Cant wait to try Qatar when they start their service although not as good with connections in Doha for us!

Kangaroo route. What is your favourite airline to fly with when you go to London in business class from any Aussie port and why?

Cathay Pacific
Due to schedule and QF no longer service out of ADL ( i think now even if they did I would ditch them )
Not climbing over passenger next you is a real bonus if solo flying. Direct Access a plus.
Great connection time in HK
Ultra reliable product, consistent service and on time stats impressive
