Definition of "full ticket purchase" for travel insurance purposes

Do you know what classifies as a full purchase as defined by credit cards to be eligible free travel insurance? I'm just wondering if purchasing a ticket with points and paying $ for the taxes qualifies? I'm guessing not but just wanted to confirm - thanks in advance

Different cards have different policies with different conditions.  Check the fine print, or call to confirm.

If we've run a credit card review of the card you're looking at you'll find this detail covered within the review, but note that the information in the reviews is believed correct as per the publication date, not the current date as changes can always occur, so it's still best to double-check with the bank and/or insurer.

Do not quote me, but when I researched this question for CBA Platinum card it appears like no less than 80% must be paid by the card. While it is nice to have “something for nothing” I would not hold my breath for insurance. I have not explored free travel insurance as yet, but tried extended warranty and it appears total nightmare and I eventually abandoned my attempt. Not saying that ordinary travel insurance is something to be prized either.

My ANZ platinum card Insurance is with QBE.I was flying to HKL on a reward seat. I  checked and as long as the taxes are over $250.00 you are covered. I was paying for the hotel on checkout.
